NCFE CACHE LEVEL 1 AWARD IN CARING FOR CHILDREN
A GUIDE TO THE QUALIFICATION
This qualification is designed to stimulate interest and encourage the learners’ understanding of the skills and knowledge needed to care for young children
It is aimed at a range of learners, including young people needing to develop life skills as well as those who are thinking of working in childcare. It is also suitable for parents who wish to develop parenting skills, mature learners, individuals with special educational needs, or where English is an additional language (please note; English as an additional language (EAL) is not an indication of a special educational need (SEN) unless accompanied by one).

| Qualification: Learners must achieve 10 credits to gain their qualification. Units below are examples of what will be studied on the course. |

PROGRESSION:
This qualification provides a straightforward progression to the Level 1 Certificate and Diploma in Caring for Children giving the opportunity to carry forward shared units.
Level 1 Award in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care
A GUIDE TO THE QUALIFICATION
This qualification will enable learners to develop a basic knowledge of the adult social care sector and is aimed at those learners who wish to explore roles in this field.
It provides a pathway into the sector for individuals considering a career in health and/or social care or those returning to work after a career break. It does not confirm competence in a job role but provides an opportunity to develop knowledge about the wider health and social care sector before learners decides whether working in the sector is for them and gain information to make decisions about career progression.

| Placement: Learners do not need to be working as this is a knowledge only qualification but Oasis Care and Training Agency offer two days’ work experience on completion of this course. |
Units covered: To gain this qualification, learners must achieve 6 credits from the mandatory units.

The Level 1 Award in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care allows for progression to the Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care, the Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care

A GUIDE TO THE QUALIFICATION
The objective of this qualification is to prepare learners for further learning and training, whilst developing an understanding of the teaching and learning environment in a school setting, how to support the well-being of a child or young person and child, and young person development.
The qualification is aimed at a range of learners, including young people, mature learners, learners with special educational needs or where English is an additional language, learners who are thinking of working in a school setting.
Learners do not need to be working or undertaking practical placements to take this qualification.
